Job Description

We are looking for skilled and excited individuals to join the opening BOH team of Basic Kitchen. The prep-person plays a key role in setting the tone for the day: going into service fully stocked, maintaining inventory levels and processing fruits and veggies. During service, you’ll be on cold station, multi-tasking between smoothie and salad orders. Candidates should be flexible, team-oriented, comfortable in a high-paced open kitchen and eager to learn.

Skills and Qualities

  • 2+ years in BOH

  • Awareness and adherence to food safety standards

  • Strong work ethic: works safely, in a clean and organized manner

  • Ability to take direction and eagerness to learn

  • Good communication skills and a positive attitude

  • Ability to follow recipes and produce consistent work

  • Level-headed and efficient during high-volume/pressure situations

  • Sense of urgency: works hard and assists fellow team members

  • Able to lift 50 pounds, comfortable with repetitive motions/standing for extended periods

  • Outgoing, flexible & self-motivated: enjoys coming to work

  • Responsible, punctual, reliable. Desire to learn and grow with Basic Kitchen, career-minded and ambitious
